"We are living in scary times, my friend. COVID-19, civil unrest, and the injustices that continue to rear their ugly heads. Can we start 2020 over again?
But like all hardships we face that may be out of our individual control, it's more important than ever to come together and take control of our health. I stand before you (well, virtually) with 5 years of continuous sobriety. What that means is I have not touched a drink or drug or had the desire to touch a mind-altering substance for 5 straight years. It's a pretty rad feeling to live in the moment and be present. So many years of not being able to live freely without the chains of addiction went on for far too long. Now, I am working every day to be a better son, uncle, friend, and mentor. I continually host meetings and attend my AA fellowship and will do whatever it takes to stay sober. I'd love to help you too. Let's work on connecting rather than isolating. Let's work on acceptance rather than judgment. Less hate, more love." – Brandon Novak on 8 years of sobriety
